Your family and friends are welcome to visit you at the Mercy

Visiting times

2.00pm and 8.00pm everyday

Your immediate family may visit you at any time, with hospital approval, and if visitors are not able to visit during these times, the nurse in charge can arrange alternate times.

Hospital Access

Patients may be dropped off at the entrance.

A 15 minute parking zone is available directly at the front.

Disabled access is available; using an access ramp to the right of the main entrance.

Reception can arrange for wheelchairs.

Car Parking

The car park opposite Mercy campus in Grey Street offers limited patient and visitor parking from 6am-10pm weekdays and 2pm-10pm on weekends.

Metered parking is available in the surrounding streets.

Public Transport

You can get to the Mercy campus by catching a tram along either Victoria or Wellington Parades. The nearest train stations are Jolimont or Parliament. All are within a walking distance of approximately 5 - 10 minutes.

Taxis

A direct line to a taxi service is available from reception. Staff will help organise a taxi for you.

Food Services

A seven day menu will be in your room from which you make your meal selections for the following day. Food Services Assistants will collect your meal selection between 9.30am and 11.00am each day.

Food services staff will visit you each day to discuss your menu choices and help if you have any special needs or require a religious/cultural diet.

The nurses can also help you choose your meals if you have any dietary restrictions, requirements or requests. There is an onsite dietician who is available to discuss your nutritional requirements.

Telephones

Telephones are on each bedside cabinet. Local calls are free and can be made from your room by simply dialling "0" for an outside line.

Television

Each room has a television operated by the handset by your bedside. There is no cost for this service.

Mail

Incoming mail, flowers or deliveries will be taken to your room daily. Anything that arrives after your discharge will be promptly forwarded to your home address.

Newspapers and magazine delivery

Newspapers and magazines are delivered daily to patient rooms. They are also available from the gift shop at each campus.

You can also buy newspapers or magazines without leaving your room from our well-stocked trolley service that visits between 7.00am to 9.00am each day.
