Sports & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
Associate Professor Takla was born in Alexandria and educated in Melbourne, where he completed his physiotherapy training at The University of Melbourne in 1997.
After completing 12 months of clinical practice, successful entry was gained into the University of Melbourne Master of Physiotherapy (Manipulative Therapy) program. The clinical masters program focused on advanced clinical reasoning, problem-based learning and manipulative techniques.
In 2007, he gained successful recognition as a sports physiotherapist by the Australian Physiotherapy Association. He is regularly invited to speak at local and international meetings on physiotherapy following hip arthroscopy and the management of hip disorders.

Over the past 5 years, Amir has developed rehabilitation protocols for the assessment and treatment of Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) and is currently involved in postgraduate research at The University of Melbourne and Bond University.
